There are many bicycle enthusiasts who assume that Gazelle bikes are not manufactured anymore. Gazelle bicycles are still a lot younger and quite recognizable circulating in Indonesia are usually referred to as the Gazelle bicycle Guinea (typical term in Indonesia). I do not understand why the term as a sub brand of Irian Gazelle. Is this because the bikes are being distributed from the base assembly in New Guinea as the last territory still controlled by the Dutch in the 1960s.

For fans who need a Gazelle bicycle references to recent evolution Gazelle bike, here are the reports on the test ride a bike Gazelle Tour Populair 2009 which is still produced today. The naming of this type of bike is limited in production. I tried to find the frame number is not met.

The Model’s 2009 quite different from previous years, striking changes are the large headlamps (Li Tung brand made in China), saddles Brooks B-67, and the ding-dong bell large. Model 2008 is still using a small lamp production Axa, Lepper saddle, and the bell tring.

Gazelle was the first Dutch bicycle manufacturer to introduce the “Kwikstep” folding bicycle in 1964. The front-hub drum brake was developed in 1968 and is still in production today. In 1980 Gazelle was the first bicycle manufacturer to develop a crank axle with ball bearings.

The centenary in 1992 coincided with the eight millionth bicycle produced. Princess Margriet classified the company “Royal” Gazelle in honor of the anniversary. From then on one million bicycles were produced every three to four years.
